Plot summary

The father repairs watches at a street market and is the household's only support; he collapses and dies at a shopping mall. Alfredo and Julián go to the market booth, where Julián quarrels with a customer and the woman who runs the market orders them out over three weeks of unpaid rent. Sabina comes home in shock with the news of the death, and Patricia, the mother, shuts herself in a room. The children are left to work out who will provide the family's meals, which are part of cannibalistic rituals. A coroner shows detectives Octavio and Owen a finger taken from the father's stomach, and the two are asked to take the case.
