Plot summary
Julia is a restorer in Barcelona. While working on a 1471 Flemish painting called The Chess Game, she finds a hidden Latin inscription: 'Who killed the knight?' She sets out to solve the centuries-old murder with help from her old friend César and Domenec, a local chess expert. As she investigates, a series of murders hits the art world around her, and the painting's mystery is tied to the present-day deaths.
