Plot summary
Nat is a freelance translator who moves to La Escapa, a countryside village. She finds the place hostile and her landlord cruel, prone to sexist remarks. Her neighbor Andreas, known locally as the German, offers an awkward deal: he will repair her home in exchange for sex. Nat hesitates at first, but she accepts.
