Plot summary
Isabel, a journalism student, does her internship at a small Galician coastal newspaper. Her boss Don Mauricio assigns her the obituaries section, and on her first day an anonymous obituary for a woman named Lucía arrives. Don Mauricio says the paper has received the same notice on the same date for fifteen years, and lets her investigate. The writer is Gonzalo; when Isabel travels to his house she meets his son Carlos instead, who says his father has just died. Carlos joins the search, since Lucía was not his mother. The notices lead them to Jerez de la Frontera in 1958, where Gonzalo, an architect, arrives to design a winery for his friend Hernán, a vintner, and meets Hernán's fiancée Lucía. Hernán leaves for Sevilla to close a deal, and Lucía takes his place in charge.
