Plot summary
In the mid-21st century an accident at an illegal laboratory infects part of the world's population with a virus that rewrites DNA, turning them into hemophages: fanged, stronger, faster and smarter than humans, with shortened lifespans. The remaining governments answer with the ArchMinistry, a world body that abolishes human rights and hunts the infected, who have gone underground. Violet Jat Shariff, a hemophage supersoldier with the rebel resistance, is sent to raid a facility called the Blood Bank for a weapon capable of destroying her kind. Inside the container she finds not a weapon but Six, a nine-year-old boy, the carrier of a virus deadly to hemophages.
