Plot summary
Nick Wrigley owes money to Bill and Harry, who want thirty thousand dollars back by Christmas and threaten to send their enforcer, Eliot, after him. Nick runs from his apartment, takes a Santa suit from a North Pole stage and turns up at his brother John's house, where his nephew Danny is pleased to see him and John is not. When John and his wife Abby, both doctors, are called to the hospital, they leave Nick in charge of Danny and his younger siblings, Kaitlin and Peter. Santa arrives on Christmas Eve with a device that stops time so he can leave the family's presents under the tree unseen.
