Plot summary
During the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom, a couple named He and She are isolated in their house. He works for himself, and She works for a charity. Their 10-year-old son, Artie, is with them. The lockdown forces the couple to look again at their lives and their relationship while they care for Artie. All of the action stays inside the home.

- Together was shot in ten days during the pandemic, in April and May 2021, and because the whole film takes place in one setting it was finished under COVID-19 protocols inside a single house, an experience Sharon Horgan called "beautifully stressful".
- The couple's ten-year-old son Artie was originally never going to appear in Together; writer Dennis Kelly's first draft was completed between April and May 2020 and rewritten several times to create a connection between the characters and the viewer.
- Dennis Kelly wrote Together for a theatrical release, but director Stephen Daldry and producer Sonia Friedman encouraged him to make it for television instead.
