Plot summary
Maddie Dolan is a teenager from San Diego who wants her father Gary to retire from the Navy so he can be home with her, her sister Kiley and her mother Kate. Gary serves as executive officer of the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, which is sailing home from Pearl Harbor with a tiger cruise for military relatives aboard. Maddie joins the voyage and befriends Anthony, a teenage drummer from New York City, and Tina, who is fascinated by the military and whose older sister Grace is a naval aviator. Anthony's brother Kenny is a sailor, and Maddie also bonds with Joey Coleman, whose mother Diane serves aboard the ship. The Tigers look forward to an air show, and Tina wants photographs of Grace's jet taking off.
