Plot summary
On May 22, 2011, an EF5 tornado hit Joplin, Missouri. It crossed the southern part of the city and reached a peak width of nearly one mile. The storm damaged an estimated 8,000 homes and killed 158 people. The documentary follows teenagers who survived the tornado on graduation day. Among them are a couple who sheltered in a freezer, a 17-year-old at a frozen yogurt shop, a school dropout who was sucked out of his car, and a football team captain turned paramedic.
