Plot summary
Frank Martin, a former special operations soldier, works in southern France as a driver for people who need goods moved without questions. He sets three conditions for himself: he does not change an arrangement, he does not want names, and he does not look at what he carries. In Nice he drives three bank robbers away from their job, and Inspector Tarconi comes asking about the car seen at the scene. An American called Wall Street then hires him to make a delivery. On the road Frank notices the package moving and opens it, and inside is a bound, gagged woman.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Transporter (2002)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Director Louis Leterrier originally intended the lead character, Martin, to be gay, but the angle was dropped during filming and a sex scene between Martin and Lai was added instead.
- Shu Qi spoke almost no English at the time she was cast in the film, and she had to learn most of her lines phonetically.
SPOILER
The film was cut to earn a PG-13 in the United States, and that version went out in the United Kingdom and several other countries; only France and Japan got the uncut version. In the French release Wall Street is crushed under the truck's wheels, while elsewhere he is simply thrown out onto the road.
