The Storms of Jeremy Thomas (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

Jeremy Thomas, the Oscar-winning producer behind The Last Emperor, makes a pilgrimage from London to the Cannes Film Festival every year, crossing by land and sea. His films have stirred debate and drawn acclaim. He drives an old sports car and usually has a friend or two along. This time a filmmaker rides with him, filming as they go. The journey is an off-beat grand tour of sites and figures from the producer's working life and the movies he has made, from the Paris locations used in The Dreamers to Lyon, the city where cinema began, and on to the Riviera and the festival.
