Plot summary

The Bible story of Adam and Eve is retold with only two figures on screen, Adán and Eva. The picture is largely silent; the pair communicate by gesture and by calling each other's names. Narration plays at the opening, and a voice from the heavens speaks a few phrases. Though no other performers appear, the movie drew notoriety for showing its two leads unclothed through most of the action, and it was released around the world. It was the first of several biblical pictures made by the same filmmaker. For the release in the United States, the film was re-edited and dubbed.
