Plot summary
An extremist Taliban group takes a group of Korean hostages in Afghanistan. The Korean government dispatches Jung Jae-ho, among its most skilled diplomats, to take charge of the case. He arrives and asks the Afghan government for its cooperation, trying every means available to free the captives, and none of it works. Because of that failure, he is made to work with Park Dae-shik, a special agent and an expert on the Middle East. The two set out toward the Taliban. The story comes from the 2007 crisis in Afghanistan, when 23 South Korean Christian volunteers were captured and held hostage.
