Plot summary
Daniel Ellsberg works for the RAND Corporation as a high-ranking Pentagon official in the Nixon era. He deals with top-secret documents and comes to believe the public should see them. He leaks them to the New York Times and the Washington Post, wanting to preserve American democracy. Made public, the documents become known as the Pentagon Papers, and they reveal the true reasons for American involvement in Vietnam.
