Plot summary
For her school paper, Blake Conway writes The Hopeless Romantic, a column about her love life, and her editor River Dewan cancels it as too dull, promising to reinstate it only if she finds better material. A night out with her roommate Nikki Morrison leaves Blake holding another student's ID. When she returns it, she meets Morgan Cruise, who is with an older man and says she is a sugar baby; Blake declines his offer of payment to stay. Jealous that fellow journalist Jacob has River's backing for an award, Blake interviews Morgan, who takes her to a pool party. There Blake meets Ian Brooks, a wealthy professor who asks her to be his sugar baby.
