Plot summary

The residents of an apartment complex learn that a middle-school girl from their building, Won Yeo-seon, never came home from the bus stop one rainy evening. Her body is discovered in a red suitcase ten days later. Song Kyung-hee, her stepmother, did not pick her up that night and carries the guilt. Before long a girl named Yoo Soo-yeon, who closely resembles Yeo-seon, appears in the same complex. The killer is still uncaught. Several residents begin to suspect a neighbor, Ryu Seung-hyuk, a crewman on a fishing vessel. The pizza delivery boy, the building's security guard and the seller of the suitcase all hold circumstantial evidence, and none acts on it. One worries a scandal will drop property prices, another has five months before his statute of limitations runs out, and the others will not meddle without proof.
