The Mighty Peking Man (1977) on Netflix

Plot summary

An earthquake in the forests of northern India leaves a giant ape roaming the jungle, and word of it reaches Lu Tien, who owns a Hong Kong entertainment company. He wants the creature captured for a commercial show, or killed and mounted, and offers to pay for an expedition if the ape becomes his. Chen Zhengfeng, a young explorer who knows the road, at first refuses, then agrees and joins him. A local guide leads the party through deserted forest and up cliffs, past lakes and swamps where elephants, tigers and poisonous snakes attack them. When the ape turns on the unconscious Zhengfeng, a wild woman named Ah-wei intervenes. Her parents, explorers, died in a storm in a small plane, leaving her at four years old; the ape she calls Ah-wang raised her, and she plays with cheetahs and elephants.
