Biography

Danny Lee is a Hong Kong actor and producer who was born in Shanghai in 1952 and entered the TVB acting school in 1970. He became known for playing police officers, most famously in John Woo's The Killer (1989), a role the studio resisted giving him until Woo and Yun-Fat Chow insisted. Earlier he starred in the superhero film The Super Inframan (1975) and the monster movie The Mighty Peking Man (1977). His performance in Law With Two Phases (1984) brought him both the Hong Kong Film Award and a Golden Horse, and he later produced and co-starred in the Category III thriller The Untold Story (1993) and produced Kirk Wong's Organized Crime & Triad Bureau (1994). He formed Magnum Films in 1987 and directed films including Funny Boys.
