Plot summary
Parazuellia is a South American country divided between President Diaz's government and a rebel movement. Eric and Ernie are British salesmen sent there to sell their goods, and the train taking them to the city of Campo Grande is also carrying Torres, the British-educated figurehead of the rebels, back home. Eric opens a carriage door, and Torres is killed. In Campo Grande the rebels, who want Torres to lead their fight against Diaz, take Eric for him because the two resemble each other. Though they know the real Torres is gone, they offer Eric and Ernie money to keep the likeness going, with Eric to lead the uprising against Diaz.
