The Lift (1983) on Netflix

Plot summary

Felix Adelaar is a technician for Deta Liften, the elevator company that services a new office building in Amsterdam. An elevator there begins to run by itself, and during a lightning storm a power failure traps four passengers inside; when the electricity returns the doors stay shut and they nearly suffocate. The mishaps in the building then turn fatal. Felix is sent to inspect the electrical system and finds no fault in it, but the failures continue. Mieke de Beer, a journalist for De Nieuwe Revu, takes an interest in the building, and she and Felix begin asking questions about the accidents.
