Plot summary
A system update at work forces Lara to restart her laptop, and the restart brings a run of CAPTCHA tests. She types the correct answers and still fails. She calls tech support, and the voice says the tests reject her because she is a robot, then hangs up. A different test asks whether she feels like an outsider, whether her partner is wealthy, and about the parents she lost in an accident when she was too young to remember them. It replies that they most likely never existed, then puts the odds at 87 percent that she is a robot and invites her into a bot community. Lara leaves her desk and calls her boyfriend Daniël with the news, but he ends the call with an excuse.
