Plot summary
Bridget Gregory runs a telemarketing office in New York, where she talks her husband Clay, a doctor in debt to a loan shark, into selling pharmaceutical cocaine to drug dealers. The deal brings in $700,000, and Bridget takes the cash and leaves the apartment. She ends up in a small town outside Buffalo, spends the night with a local man named Mike Swale, and in the morning applies for a manager's job at an insurance company under the name Wendy Kroy. Mike, who has just left a brief marriage in Buffalo and will not talk about it, works in the same office and develops a crush on her. Bridget keeps her own past to herself and sees in him a dupe for a scheme she has in mind.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Last Seduction (1994)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Linda Fiorentino's widely praised performance was ruled ineligible for an Academy Award because the film had already aired on HBO in July 1994, months before its October theatrical release; the distributors sued the Academy over the ruling and lost.
- After reading the script in Arizona, Linda Fiorentino drove six hours to a meeting with director John Dahl and told him he wasn't allowed to cast anyone but her in the lead role.
- Barancik recalled that a company man watching the dailies saw the suspenders over Linda's nipples, shouted "Are we making an art movie?!" and shut down production until the principals pledged they had no artistic pretensions; the scene was cut.
- Co-star Peter Berg said the film's chain-link-fence sex scene was entirely Linda Fiorentino's own idea, and that she directed director John Dahl on how to shoot it as she climbed on him.
