Plot summary
Harry Ballard, an anthropology professor, gets a videotape that shows the Black Lodge, a cult, ranting about a demonic plot. His brother Richard took his own life some months before, in circumstances that remain unexplained and may involve the cult. The loss weighs on Harry and strains his relationship with his girlfriend Celia. A young woman named Bennie, an ex-member of the cult who has felt its power, follows him around and lights sparklers in alleyways. The cult's leader, Le Valliant, has plans for Harry, and the Black Lodge targets him for an upcoming ritual. As the ritual approaches, Harry's grip on reality begins to slip.
