For nearly all his life, Camilo Sanz has lived in New York City, working on false documents and building a career in finance. A notice of deportation threatens that life. Faced with the prospect of being sent away, he searches for a solution and takes money from a neighborhood loan shark. The money covers the cost of a fraudulent marriage to Hailey, a woman he barely knows, arranged so he can remain in the country. Hailey is on a search for meaning of her own and carries demons she has to control. Together they must convince an immigration judge that the marriage is genuine.
