Plot summary
Pauline Christophe, a voodoo priestess, dies at her house on Skull Mountain. Two days afterward, four of her relatives come for the funeral and the reading of her will: Phillippe, Lorena, Dr. Andrew Cunningham and Harriet Johnson. Pauline's butler Thomas and her maid Louette practiced voodoo as she did, and the funeral is troubled by voodoo occurrences. A skeleton dressed in a robe stalks each of the guests. The four are the heirs she named in her will, gathered at the house to learn what she has left them, and someone among them means to keep that inheritance from them.
