Plot summary
Christian Forteski, a divorced businessman in Australia, is grieving his daughter Jesse, who was found dead with heroin and cocaine in her body. Then a tape shows up in his mailbox, an adult film in which Jesse is the lead performer with several men. Christian loads a toolbox into his car and sets out along the outback roads, looking for the producer, the director and everyone else involved in the recording. The hunt draws him into the trade in drugs and pornography. On the road he picks up Alice, an eighteen-year-old runaway who is pregnant, and the two travel together, though Christian says nothing to her about the purpose of his trip.
