Plot summary
Steve has spent a year away at college, where he made his name as a baseball player. He returns for the summer to the small southern California town where he grew up, hoping to win over Heather Smith, who once told him she would consider dating him if he made it in the sport. Heather has a boyfriend, Todd. Steve's old friends Duff, Seb and T come from wealthy families and fill their days with parties, drugs, and taunting the clerk at a convenience store. Duff and T have found a gun and turned to crime, and the suburban hills where Steve grew up have become a violent place run by his high school friends.
