Plot summary
Bill Miner is an American stagecoach robber whom the Pinkertons call the Gentleman Bandit. He spends thirty-three years in prison and is released in 1901. A genial and charming old man, he steps into a world he does not know. Then he sees one of the first films, The Great Train Robbery, and it gives him the idea of robbing trains himself. Robbery is the only thing that has given him purpose, and he takes it up again.
