Plot summary
An all-star reboot of the lost classic 1934 film, The Giant Buddha Statue's Travel Through The Country, made with the cooperation of director Yoshiro Edamasa's grandson. From Japan, a modern kaiju story based on what may be the first kaiju film.

- Tokusatsu veterans including Akira Takarada and Yukijiro Hotaru were asked to appear in the 2018 kaiju film, but 80% of the offers were declined; some actors agreed only after learning that Takarada would appear.
- The film is a remake of The Great Buddha Arrival, a 1934 kaiju film now considered one of the earliest, made with the cooperation of original director Yoshiro Edamasa's grandson, whom Yokokawa contacted in 2016.
- Part of the production cost was raised through crowdfunding, and an English translation of the project by producer Avery Guerra published on Yahoo! News drew interest, leading overseas actors such as Philip Granger to join.
