Plot summary
The Electric Hotel is an establishment of the future where electricity does all the work, from the front desk to the guest rooms. Laure and Bertrand, an enthusiastic young couple, check in, and the clerk presses a button that sends their baggage up on the elevator and into their room without help. A control board lets inanimate objects come to life, so shoes are polished, hair is styled and luggage is stowed with no one touching it, to the couple's pleasure. It is a silent comedy-fantasy trick film made with stop-motion animation and pixilation, two early uses of these techniques.
