Plot summary
Top Cat is on the streets of New York City when he comes across a cat who is playing a violin. The player introduces himself as Benny the Ball and says he is busking to make money, so Top Cat offers his help in exchange for a cut. That evening the two run into a pair of orphans who are hiding cakes taken from a bakery. A police sergeant, Officer Charlie Dibble, arrives to arrest them, and Top Cat claims the orphans had spent the day with him, so Dibble moves on. The orphans beg Top Cat to save their orphanage, which a bulldog called Bad Dog intends to burn down, and Top Cat sets out to talk to him.
