Plot summary
Jerome Littlefield holds a job as an orderly at the Whitestone Sanitarium, though his dream is to become a doctor. He is hopelessly squeamish, and when he hears of a problem troubling a patient, he psychosomatically suffers those same symptoms as well. Susan Andrews is an old friend from his high school days, and his crush on her goes back to that time. She arrives at the hospital after a suicide attempt, and he recognizes her at once. Nurse Higgins and Dr. Jean Howard are on the staff at the Whitestone Sanitarium, and the talkative Mrs. Fuzzibee is one of the patients.
