Muriel Landers

Muriel Landers was an American actress, singer and dancer whose career took in more than thirty film and television parts between 1950 and 1971. Raised in Chicago, she started out as a concert singer and went to New York City to act, settling into comedy after struggling at first to land parts. A 1951 appearance on The Frank Sinatra Show led Jack Benny to ask her to perform alongside him at the London Palladium, and she worked with him again on two episodes of The Jack Benny Program. Her feature debut came in 1952 with Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla, the same year she won a regular part on the sitcom Life with Luigi. She played Marge Moore in a 1962 episode of The Twilight Zone, appeared in Pillow Talk (1959), The Disorderly Orderly (1964) and Doctor Dolittle (1967) as Mrs. Blossom, her last film role, and in 1968 she became part of Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
