Plot summary
A planned revival of the Superman film series, taken from a 1992 DC comic, went through development from 1996 until the studio halted it three weeks before an April 1998 shoot. A director and a producer were attached, a lead actor was cast as Superman, and actresses were considered for Lois Lane. Lex Luthor and Doomsday were among the characters planned. The producer wanted ideas the series had not tried before, among them a hero who would neither fly nor wear the familiar red and blue costume, and a giant spider in the finale; a writer described those plans, the producer first denied them and later confirmed the spider. The documentary gathers the writers, designers and producers to talk through the concept art and designs made for the unmade film.
