The Class of ‘92 (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

The documentary follows six young Manchester United players, David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes, from the FA Youth Cup win in 1992 through their careers at the club. Their rise to prominence and the sporting fame that follows are set against the wider social and cultural change in Great Britain over the same years, and the story runs to 1999. The film was made with full access to all six, who took part themselves, and it also hears from former players and from the youth coach who worked with them at Manchester United. Reviewers received it warmly, singling out its attention to the friendships the players kept away from the pitch.
