Plot summary
Lucy Gulliver works at the Woolf Gallery, an art space in New York City, where she idolizes her boss, Eva Woolf, and talks about her boyfriend Max to her roommates, Amanda and Nadine. At the gallery opening, Max dumps her for his ex Amelia, and Lucy loses her job. Drunk, she gets into a car she takes for her ride and meets Nick, who drives her home and listens to the story of the evening. Weeks later, her roommates push her to clear out the keepsakes she has saved from past relationships. At the Chloe hotel, an old YMCA that Nick has spent five years renovating without the money to finish, Lucy hangs Max's tie on a nail and writes a caption. The two invent a gallery for the objects heartbreak leaves behind.
