Plot summary
Prominent scientists are pressed into Fu Manchu's service: their daughters have been seized by his dacoits and are held at his hidden base in the Atlas Mountains, and the fathers are not asked for money. What Fu Manchu wants from them is a device that sends blast waves through a radio transmitter, and with it he means to bring the world under his control. The young women are to remain with him, and he even plans to marry them. His daughter Lin Tang has a part in the abductions, and much of the story unfolds in London. Nayland Smith of Scotland Yard, Fu Manchu's archenemy, works against the plan.
