Plot summary
The host couple at a cocktail party fall into an argument that grows until the evening breaks up. Neither they nor their guests can agree on how the quarrel occurred or who was right, so they decide to reconstruct the whole night, party and argument together, and to repeat it again and again until the question is settled.
