Plot summary
The documentary surveys what human activity has done to the planet's life systems. More than fifty politicians, scientists and environmental advocates take part, among them economic historians, oceanographers and medical specialists, and they describe global warming, clearing forests, the loss of species and the depletion of the oceans' habitats. The starting point is that humanity's own future is in jeopardy. The speakers set out what they consider workable responses, from new technology to conservation and a broader sense of social responsibility. Interviewed experts hold that everyone has to be involved if the destruction and the climate change are to be reversed, and they agree that the warming is caused by people.
