Plot summary
The Tracker-Communicators are an underground city's security force, and Jason Storm is one of its officers. The wealthy settled below after an ecological disaster; the survivors who could not afford a place there live on the surface in gangs. Zoey Kinsella, the founder's daughter, joins Storm as his rookie partner. When starving surface survivors raid the city and breach its force field, Storm clashes with the Controller, the head of security, and with the Controller's enforcer Bigalow; the Controller wants the human officers replaced by cyborgs known as TC-X. Niki Picasso and his gang enter the city and reach a disused area, where a hidden cache holds a rifle and ammunition, weapons now rare.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about TC 2000 (1993)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- U.S. backer Shapiro-Glickenhaus Entertainment disliked the original cut of TC 2000 and had it retooled to stress action, costing star Jalal Merhi about 15 minutes of screen time, including fights and character scenes. The fallout drove him out of their partnership.
- The film's title, its police unit's logo and parts of the officers' anti-riot gear are promotional nods to a real line of martial arts sparring accessories, the TC 2000 series. The on-screen name "Tracker Communicator" is a backronym fitted to the initials of Fremont, California-based maker Tiger Claw.
- Much of the film's dystopian underground city was played by the lower levels of a government complex on Wellesley and Bay Street, in Toronto, where the film shot in November 1992.
