Takeout (2020) on Netflix

Plot summary

The fires in the Amazon are tied in the film to what people choose to eat and to the meat industry in Brazil and elsewhere, and corporate greed and political corruption are set beside crimes against people and against nature. Those whose accounts shape it include two physicians, a research professor, a linguist, a television author and activist, a musician and activist, campaigners for the rainforest, a director of forest campaigns and a former congressman. A filmmaker travels to Brazil to look into what lies behind the fires and the pace at which the forest is being cleared. The film also takes up facts and stories that mainstream news outlets do not carry.
