Plot summary
Adam Schmidt studies medicine and keeps to himself, and the invitation that reaches him by e-mail promises a place in a unique research project. He accepts it and travels to an isolated, snow-covered area and a remote cabin, where he meets Dr. Franklin Vick. Vick cuts his throat with a hunting knife, and Adam dies. Then he wakes. Vick tells him that he is conducting unethical research into bringing the dead back to life, and that Adam is now Subject Two, the one the serum is tested on. Days pass, and the killing and the reviving repeat while Vick works to improve his research.
