Plot summary

Michael Ausiello writes for TV Guide and has never been part of a long-term relationship. His best friend takes him along to a Manhattan nightclub, and there he meets Kit Cowan, a photographer. The two begin dating, and Michael worries that he is not attractive enough for Kit, having once been overweight. Both men admit they are afraid of a lasting relationship, since neither has had one. During their first Christmas together, Kit gives Michael closet space at his apartment. Kit has still not come out to his parents, and when an appendectomy puts him in the hospital, his mother arrives in Manhattan and grows suspicious of the man at his side.
