Plot summary
Four pickpockets work the streets of Hong Kong together in daylight: Kei and his partners Bo, Sak, and Mac. One day a sparrow gets inside Kei's apartment, and he mentions it to his partners, who cannot say what it means. Kei also takes photographs around the city, and through his lens he finds Chun-Lei, a woman who seems to be hiding from someone. She seeks out Bo, Sak, and Mac one by one, charming each of them, and Bo's watch goes with her. Chun-Lei's next ride is with Mr. Fu, a wealthy man in poor health who locks her passport in a safe so she will stay and look after him. She then tracks Kei to his apartment, where she burns one of the prints he is developing and asks him to keep the photographs from everyone.
