Plot summary
Marion is terminally ill and still sings with enthusiasm in The OAP'Z, her local seniors' choir. Her husband, Arthur Harris, is a grumpy man who cannot understand why she wants to embarrass herself with such songs, and he and his son James are estranged. The choir's choirmaster is a young teacher named Elizabeth, who is preparing the group to enter a local competition called Shadow Song, whose songbook includes racier numbers such as Salt-N-Pepa's Let's Talk About Sex and Motörhead's Ace of Spades. Elizabeth finds something special in the reluctant Arthur and does not give up on him, working to coax him out of his shell and into the choir.
