Plot summary
Henri Cassin is a well-known detective from Paris who travels to the countryside for a rest. At a rural inn run by Pierre Michaud, he meets the owner's daughter Nanette. She is promised to a local farmer, but Cassin falls for her. During the party celebrating her engagement, both Nanette and the farmer go missing. Cassin immediately starts looking into their disappearance.
