Plot summary
Simon, a recent college graduate, travels to Paris after Michelle, his girlfriend of five years, leaves him. He sends her email after email asking her to answer, and privately insults her as he writes. One night he visits a bar where sex is sold and meets Victoria, a prostitute, who gives him her number. They meet again and sleep together. Michelle writes back, saying that he frightens her now.
