Plot summary
Tatsuhiko is broke and unemployed in Tokyo when a fight with a gang leaves him in the care of Mako, a scout who recruits women for the adult trade in Kabukichō, the red-light district of Shinjuku. Tatsuhiko takes up the same work for Burst, the agency run by Yamashiro, learning the streets under Yosuke, his direct superior. Burst pays protection money to Chairman Shuzen Amano, whose Monbukai family now wants a bigger cut after a better offer from the rival Harlem agency. Matsukata runs Harlem, and his scout Hideyoshi Minami pushes to control the gray zone on his own while building a share of Shinjuku's drug trade behind his boss's back.
