Plot summary
Larry Jennings is in the middle of a winning poker game when two hustlers, Tiffany and Charlie Miller, propose a partnership that could bring in $20,000. The pair bring in Vernon, a card mechanic working as a blackjack dealer who can switch a six-deck shoe while his accomplices take a casino for $40,000. One night, while Vernon and Charlie wait for Larry, a corrupt cop named Scarne shakes them down. Larry arrives and joins the team after watching Vernon handle the cards, agreeing to bet high on Vernon's crooked deals. The crew then sets its sights on Dean Stevens, a legendary card shark called the Dean, whose game carries a $250,000 buy-in.
