Plot summary
Seed: The Untold Story is a documentary about the diversity of the world's seeds and the people who keep it. Seed varieties have fallen by 94 percent in the last century, and chemical companies now control the majority of the world's seeds. The documentary shows how that diversity has narrowed and traces the efforts to reverse the loss. It follows farmers, scientists, lawyers and indigenous seed keepers in different countries, people who maintain varieties handed down over generations as part of a 12,000-year-old food legacy, and who save and share those seeds rather than rely on the small number of commercial kinds that dominate the supply.
